The shadow, the darkness,
the unknown beast that growls
in the hungry belly of us all.

The shiny politician who drops
the grey bombs to make sure
that they are needed in their job.

The once socialist biological cell,
now ravaging previous comrades
to maintain its own threatened life.

The storyteller who has told one
tale too many, desperate in trying
to jauntily recount what was said.

The solid walls of the institution
that were built for the lost man, now
crushing the believer who questions.

Survival is simply original sin
by another name. To each being,
the nuclear codes of evolution.
